Diary book about veterans for every day

Challenge

Most Czechs would associate the word “veteran” with WW2 soldiers. But there are only 450 of them left here, which is only a fraction of the total number of 17,000 veterans. We have therefore decided to raise the awareness about today’s veterans in this country because they do deserve our respect.

Solution

We created a diary book which presents the world and values of war veterans on the back of their unique, thrilling stories. It not only shows the importance of their work, but it also proves that the soldiers’ values are close to the general public, so everyone can identify with them. These values were the centerpiece of both the book and the social media campaign.

Results

With a media budget of around 580 EUR we reached over 320,000 individual users on Facebook and turned the book into a bestseller with 5,000 copies sold. The campaign posts recorded over 14,000 likes and 1,200 shares. The number of page followers grew by 220% from the start of the campaign. The stories of today’s veterans were also featured by major news media channels in the country.
